Ioli Campos holds a PhD in Digital Media (by UT Austin and NOVA); a Master in Journalism (NOVA), having been fellow Fulbrighter in 2011 (UT Austin); a post-graduation in Human Rights (University of Coimbra) and a Bachelor in Journalism (ESCS-IPL).
Her research interests include media literacy and education, journalism, communication on the environment, storytelling, participatory design, and human rights. She participated in the research team on digital media at UT Austin from 2015 to 2017 and is currently a member of the research centre iNova Media Lab / ICNova. Ioli Campos has often presented her research in international conferences, such as ICA, IAMCR, ICIDS and IDC.
She has been a trainer at Cenjor (training centre for journalists) since 2012; is expert consultant in the field of media literacy for the NSC of the Council of Europe and is an experienced digital project manager. In her more than 15 years’ experience as a journalist, Ioli Campos has worked for a local radio in Spain, for an affiliate of NPR in the USA and for the newspapers Público and Sol and the magazines Sábado, Notícias Magazine, in Portugal. As a reporter, she covered mainly environmental and social topics from Kosovo, Cambodia, Algeria, Egypt, Iceland and Lapland, among others. She has received several awards such as the human rights report award by the Portuguese commission for the 50th anniversary of the UN Human Rights Declaration.
Her first literary work, entitled “Se eu morrer, publica isto”, is due for publication  in 2018.
