Vítor Tomé is a journalist (since 1993), a teacher and journalist trainer, and a researcher in the field of Media Literacy and Journalism. He holds a PhD in Education, a post-graduation in Educational Technologies and in Journalism, a Bachelor in Basic Education and a post-doc in Communication Sciences (2018). He currently integrates projects by the Council of Europe in the field of Digital Citizenship, Democratic Participation and Human Rights, and he is also a researcher in COST Action “The Digital Literacy and Multimodal Practices of Young Children”. He leads the community intervention project “Educação para a Cidadania Digital e Participação Democrática” (Odivelas, Lisboa). He has published several papers in international journals, books, book chapters, as well as participated in conferences as a speaker.
